Youth Art Day at One World Observatory

CHALLENGE

Youth art rarely gets the platform, or the altitude, it deserves. The opportunity was to take an 11-year-old painting prodigy, a beloved youth arts nonprofit, and one of New York's most iconic venues, and turn their partnership into a citywide moment that put emerging young creatives on the map, literally 100 floors above Manhattan.

APPROACH

We built the press strategy and media outreach around a single experiential activation: a live painting demonstration by Mikail Akar paired with an interactive youth workshop led by Art Start, hosted at One World Observatory. The goal was to generate press coverage and community buzz that positioned the event as more than a workshop, framing it as a milestone moment for youth creativity in New York City.

IMPLEMENTATION

  • Drafted and distributed the press release announcing the partnership between Mikail Akar, Art Start, and One World Observatory

  • Coordinated media kit assets, headshots, and B-roll for press pickup

  • Positioned the event to reach youth organizations across NYC, including The Boys & Girls Club of Harlem, The Door, and Youth Design Center

  • Tied the activation to Akar's broader career moment, previewing his upcoming NO DOUBT collection at Artexpo New York

IMPACT

  • A landmark experiential activation uniting youth talent, community organizations, and a world-renowned NYC venue

  • Press-ready assets and media kit distributed for pickup

  • Elevated visibility for youth arts programming across multiple NYC youth organizations and schools

SCOPE OF WORK

Press release strategy and drafting, media kit coordination, experiential event support, youth and community partner alignment.
